Kick is a live-streaming site like Twitch. The difference is who's behind it. NBC News reported that Kick is "backed by gambling industry heavyweights Bijan Tehrani and Ed Craven, the co-founders of Stake.com."1 When we looked at kick.com in October 2026, Gambling was one of its live categories.
Kick reports its active users country by country in Europe. For the first half of 2026 it listed more than 2.5 million in Germany and 2.8 million in Poland.2
What Kick gives you built in
We couldn't find a daily time limit or break reminder on Kick. Its help centre describes a setting where "Viewers can disable certain categories if they choose," and says "Viewers under 18 will not be able to access these categories by default."3 The page doesn't say which categories, and the default only works if the account's age is right.
Why the gambling streams matter
Islam forbids gambling. A streamer spinning slots for hours makes it look like harmless entertainment, and teenagers watching are learning the habit before they're old enough to gamble.
If your child watches streams, check whether Kick is on their phone, and block the website as well as the app.
The loopholes that break most Kick blocks
kick.com in the browser. Delete the app and every stream still plays in Safari or Chrome. Block kick.com too.
Twitch and YouTube. If Kick closes, Twitch and YouTube are the next stop. Block the ones that would take its place.
A wrong birthday. Kick's under-18 default depends on the age on the account. A teen who typed an older birthday doesn't get it.
How to block Kick on iPhone and Android

- Get Sunnah Lock from the App Store or Google Play.
- Create a block and choose when it runs. All day, set hours like evenings or bedtime until Fajr, or each prayer time. On a teenager's phone, all day is the safest setting.
- Add Kick, and add
kick.comto your website list. That closes the app and the site together, so the browser doesn't become the back door. Block any extra browsers you don't need while you're there. - Give the code to someone you trust. Let them set the code that protects your blocks. Without it, blocks can't be removed or switched off and Sunnah Lock can't be deleted, so a weak moment has nowhere to go.
Without installing anything
On iPhone, Screen Time can set an App Limit for Kick. When you reach it, "you can tap One More Minute or send a request for more time."4 It helps most when someone else sets the Screen Time passcode.
On Android, go to Settings, Digital Wellbeing, App timers and set a timer on Kick. When time runs out, "the app closes and its icon dims."5 You can change the timer in a couple of taps, and neither tool closes the website in your browser.
